CPEC Eastern Bypass work slated for completion in June
Quetta: The construction work of the Eastern Bypass, being developed under the China-Pakistan Economic (CPEC) project framework, has been completed by 40%, while the remaining work is scheduled for completion in June, a news source reported.
The information was shared with Balochistan Secretary of Communication and Works Noor Ul Amin Mengal, while he paid a site visit to the Eastern Bypass to inspect the pace of development work. The secretary also granted his approval to the proposed amendments in the project design and also ordered the concerned officials to install street lights and pave both sides of the road for pedestrians.
The estimated cost of the project is PKR 660 million. Construction of five overhead bridges between Sibi and Satellite Town will be carried out using the same funds. Mengal further ordered the immediate construction of these bridges. He also expressed displeasure over the delays the project has faced.
He directed the concerned department to meet the committed deadline for project completion and to ensure that construction quality is thoroughly maintained.
